Welcome to My Countryside Vlog!
Hello dear friends!
We’re happy to have you join us once again on our journey through the heart of rural life. With each step we take, each dish we cook, and every story we share, we’re bringing you closer to the soul of our countryside — where simplicity, tradition, and nature come together in harmony.
Today, we’re excited to share a beloved recipe from our rich national cuisine — Makhara. This traditional dish, passed down through generations, is more than just food. It’s a story, a memory, and a celebration of our roots.
What is Makhara?
Makhara is a simple yet soulful dish, traditionally prepared in the villages of our region. It’s made by adding corn flour to milk and cooking it until it thickens. This hearty meal is usually enjoyed with molasses, honey, or sugar, reflecting our people’s ability to turn basic ingredients into something truly delicious and nourishing.
In our village, Makhara is typically cooked over a wood fire in a copper pot. The milk and corn flour are stirred continuously until a smooth and thick consistency is achieved. It’s served hot, with molasses, honey, or sugar added on top. And of course, it tastes best when enjoyed outdoors, surrounded by nature and family.
Prepared with Love, In the Heart of Nature
This episode was filmed in our mountain village, surrounded by fresh air, chirping birds, and the crackling sound of firewood. Every spoon of Makhara carries the taste of the land and the hard work of the golden hands that prepare it.
At My Countryside Vlog, we aim to preserve and share these timeless traditions — not only the recipes, but also the values behind them: community, simplicity, and gratitude.
